The original Bassac Cruise Mekong Delta, built in the hull of a rice transporting barge, is a snug ship sized right for a family excursion or a group of friends, who will love to appropriate it for the duration of their journey.

Bassac I is a green ship. It treats its waste water and recycles the waste heat from the engine. It is qualified as a first-class river vessel, VR-SI.

The Bassac II was designed in-house by TransMékong to meet the demands of river discovery cruises. It harbors redundant propulsion and power generators; river water and wastewater treatment, and a professional galley. The Bassac II is registered to navigate into Cambodia.

With a large covered upper deck, a lounge, and wide gangways, this Mekong cruise is comfortable and can host a meal for the passengers of two ships. Access on Bassac Cruise Mekong Delta is broad and steady, and elderly or partly disabled passengers are safe.

Can Tho - Cai Be

Day 01

Morning

  • Board the Bassac Cruise Mekong Delta in Can Tho, meet the crew and settle into your cabin.
  • Enjoy lunch as the cruise departs down the Hau River.

Afternoon

  • Relax on the upper deck, taking in the scenery of rice fields, sugarcane, and woods along the canals.
  • In the mid-afternoon, explore a village off the beaten path, encountering friendly locals and lush landscapes.

Evening

  • After returning to the Bassac Cruise Mekong Delta, enjoy a complimentary drink and witness a beautiful sunset.
  • Savor dinner as the cruise continues along the Mang Thit River before anchoring for the night.
Day 02
  • The Bassac departs at 6:00 a.m., cruising by Tra On.
  • Enjoy breakfast on board at 7:00 a.m.
  • The Bassac Cruise Mekong Delta crosses Co Chien river then branches into Cho Lach canal for 30 minutes through the traffic of sand and rice barges, in a scenery of fruit drying facilities and wooden ship building yards.
  • Arrival near Cai Be, check-out and transfer to a rowing boat for a quiet visit through a small canal if the tide allows.
  • Rendez-vous with a local boat, which will take you to shore for a visit of Cai Be’s handicraft.
  • End of services by mid-morning on shore at Cai Be.

Please note you will leave the Bassac for good upon boarding the small boat for the last visit, typically about 08:30.

Cai Be - Can Tho

Day 01

Midday

  • Board the Bassac Cruise Mekong Delta in Cai Be, enjoy a welcome drink, and meet the friendly crew.
  • Check into your cabin and settle in for your Mekong Delta adventure.
  • Savor a delicious lunch as the cruise departs towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang River.

Afternoon

  • Relax on the upper deck, soaking in the sights of the bustling river traffic and the scenic landscapes along the Chợ Lách canal.
  • In the mid-afternoon, the Bassac casts anchor for a village visit.
  • Explore the local charm, either by foot or bicycle, and experience the peaceful life of the delta.
  • Return to the Bassac Cruise Mekong and enjoy a refreshing drink as you unwind on the deck.

Evening

  • Watch the stunning sunset paint the sky with vibrant colors as the Bassac cruises down the Mang Thit River.
  • A delicious dinner is served on board as you cruise towards your overnight anchorage point just downstream from Tra On.
Day 02
  • The Bassac Cruise Mekong Delta departs at 6:00 a.m., cruising by Tra On.
  • Enjoy breakfast on board at 7:00 a.m.
  • Arrive in Can Tho and transfer to a local boat.

  • Arrive near Cai Be and transfer to a small rowing boat for a tranquil exploration of a narrow canal.
  • Rendezvous with a larger boat and disembark for a visit to Cai Be’s handicraft village.
  • Board the Bassac in Cai Be. Enjoy a welcome drink and introduction to the crew.
  • The ship departs towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang River.

Afternoon
