Local Private Cruise Huay Xai – Luang Prabang & Vice versa

Upon crossing the border and completing immigration formalities, you will make your way to Houei Say in Laos, where your friendly Lao guide will be waiting for you. Afterward, board a traditional boat for your scenic journey down the Mekong River to Pakbeng.

During the cruise, we’ll make a stop at Ban Houy Phalam, a Kamu village, where you can experience the local rural lifestyle. Enjoy a delicious lunch served on board as you continue your journey. We expect to arrive in Pakbeng in the late afternoon. After checking into your bungalow at Le Grand Pakbeng, unwind with a drink while watching the sunset over the mountains and the Mekong River from the terrace by the swimming pool. Overnight in Pakbeng.

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before transferring to the boat pier for the next leg of your cruise downstream to Luang Prabang. Our first stop will be at Ban Baw village, where you’ll witness the traditional process of making rice alcohol.

After lunch served on board, we will visit the Pak Ou Caves, located at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Ou Rivers. Here, you’ll explore the two caves, Tham Ting and Tham Phoum, which are filled with thousands of Buddha images.

As we approach Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage site, you will disembark before sunset. A transfer will take you to your hotel in town, marking the end of your memorable journey.

Today, embark on an upstream cruise to Pakbeng. Our first stop will be at the Pak Ou Caves, located at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Ou Rivers. Here, you can explore two caves, Tham Ting and Tham Phoum, which house thousands of Buddha images.

A delicious lunch will be served on board as you continue your journey. The next stop is at Ban Baw village, where you’ll have the opportunity to observe the traditional process of making rice alcohol.

We expect to arrive in Pakbeng before sunset, where you’ll check in at Le Grand Pakbeng. Enjoy dinner on the terrace while taking in breathtaking views of the Mekong River.

Start your day with breakfast served on the terrace from 6:00 AM. The boat will depart from Pakbeng at 8:00 AM. Along the way to Huay Xai, we will make a stop at Ban Houy Phalam, a Kamu village, to observe rural life along the Mekong River.

Lunch will be served on board as you continue your scenic cruise. We anticipate arriving at the slow boat pier in Huay Xai before 5:00 PM. If you wish, you can continue your journey to Chiang Rai, Thailand, on the same day.
